Abstract generation in progress

On August 22, according to reports, a provision against Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) has been included in a defense appropriations legislation considered "must-pass." The provision has been added to the latest version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The newly established chapter in the bill is titled "Anti-CBDC Surveillance National Act," and the content is consistent with the bill previously proposed alone by House Majority Whip Tom Emmer. Earlier this summer, the House passed Emmer's bill by a vote of 219 to 210, which aims to prohibit the Federal Reserve from directly issuing Central Bank Digital Money to individuals.
