The SEC has appointed a new director of the enforcement division, effective September 2025.

On August 22, according to official news, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that Judge Margaret "Meg" Ryan has been appointed as the Director of the Enforcement Division, effective September 2, 2025.

The director of the SEC's Enforcement Division, Sam Waldon, will return to his original position as the chief legal advisor of the division.
